How can we help you today?

Answers, guidance, and support — because trying to conceive shouldn’t be confusing.

Do you offer emotional support resources?

Yes. Our free Information Vault includes guides on timing, mindset, sperm health, and more — all written with compassion and inclusivity.

Is this a good alternative to clinical treatment?

For many, yes. If you’re not quite ready for IUI or IVF, at-home insemination can be a gentle first step.

Any tips for inseminating alone?

Set up your space to feel safe and comfortable. Lie down, use a mirror if needed, and go at your own pace. You’ve got this.

Are the syringes sterile?

They are manufactured in clean-room conditions and individually sealed, but sold as non-sterile. If you prefer, you can rinse before use.

Can I clean and reuse the applicators?

Yes, if needed — just rinse with warm soapy water and let air dry. Do not boil, microwave, or sterilise with heat.

What are the applicators made from?

Medical-grade BPA-free plastic, safe for vaginal use and compliant with UKCA and CE standards.

Is the kit medically approved?

Yes — our applicators are classified as Class I medical devices and carry both UKCA and CE markings.

Can I use lubricant?

Yes — but only sperm-friendly lubricant (like Pre-Seed). Avoid regular lubes, which can damage sperm motility.

What’s your returns policy?

For hygiene reasons, we can’t accept opened or used kits. If your order is damaged, incorrect, or missing items, please email us and we’ll fix it.

Can I change my address after ordering?

If your order hasn’t shipped yet, yes. Email us immediately at hello@maiababy.co.uk and we’ll update it for you.

Do you ship outside the UK?

Not yet — but international shipping is coming soon.

Can I use donor sperm with this kit?

Yes. Our kit works with both fresh and thawed donor sperm. Follow the instructions from your sperm bank for storage and handling.

How quickly should I inseminate after collection?

Within 30–60 minutes is ideal. Keep the sample warm (body temperature) and avoid extreme temperatures.

Can I use sperm that’s been refrigerated or frozen?

Yes, as long as it has been properly thawed following medical guidance.

How should I store sperm before insemination?

If collecting at home, keep the container close to the body (e.g., in a pocket) and use it as soon as possible.

Should my partner abstain before we try?

2–3 days of abstinence is often recommended. However, daily ejaculation may improve motility for some. Speak with your healthcare provider for personalised advice.

Is Maia Baby suitable for same-sex couples?

100%. Our kit was created to support everyone — regardless of gender, orientation, or relationship status.

I'm trying to conceive on my own — is this kit for me?

Absolutely. Maia Baby is designed for ease, clarity, and gentle support, whether you’re solo or partnered.

Is the kit suitable for people with vaginismus or pelvic pain?

Yes — the applicator is smooth, soft-tipped, and gentle. Some people may still benefit from lubricant or a relaxed position. Always listen to your body.

How do I insert the syringe correctly?

Lie down comfortably, slowly insert the syringe at a gentle angle, and push the plunger steadily. Full instructions and illustrations are included in your kit.

When is the best time to inseminate?

The ideal time is 12–24 hours after a positive ovulation test (LH surge). That’s when your egg is most likely to be present.

What if my cycle is irregular?

Irregular cycles are common. Use ovulation strips, cervical mucus monitoring, and temperature tracking over a few months to find your fertile window.

Can I use ovulation strips with the Maia Baby kit?

Absolutely — they’re highly recommended to help you pinpoint ovulation and optimise timing.

Can I inseminate more than once per cycle?

Yes. Many couples try twice: once on the day of a positive test, and again the next day.

How long should I wait to take a pregnancy test?

Wait at least 12–14 days after insemination. Testing too early can lead to false negatives (or false hope).

Can I conceive if I have PCOS or long cycles?

Yes — many people with PCOS or irregular cycles have conceived using our kit. You’ll need to monitor ovulation more closely, but it’s possible.

How long does delivery take?

UK orders usually arrive in 2–3 working days. Express shipping is also available at checkout.

Is the packaging discreet?

Yes. All our parcels are plain, with no branding or reference to fertility.

Can I track my order?

Yes. You’ll receive a tracking number via email once your order has been dispatched.

How does the Maia applicator work?

The Maia applicator is designed to gently place semen near the cervix. Simply draw up the sample, insert the applicator while relaxed, and slowly press the plunger. That’s it — smooth, simple, and gentle.

Is it painful or uncomfortable to use?

Not at all. We designed the applicator to feel natural — with a soft, rounded tip and flexible body. Most people say it’s more comfortable than expected.

Do I need help from a partner to inseminate?

No — the kit is designed to be fully usable by one person. Whether you’re TTC alone or with a partner, Maia Baby gives you control.

Can I use it on my own?

Yes. In fact, many of our customers are solo mums or same-sex couples using known or donor sperm. The applicator was made to be easy to use solo.

Can I reuse the syringe?

A: Technically yes — if washed properly — but we recommend using a fresh one each time for hygiene. Each kit includes multiple syringes.

Q: How long should I lie down after inseminating?

We recommend lying down for 15–30 minutes, with your hips slightly raised. While it’s not strictly necessary, it may help keep sperm near the cervix.
